THE PIPERINE, PERFECT COMPLEMENT OF THE TURMERIC

Updated: Feb 1, 2021

Turmeric and pepper, two exotic elements that have been used for centuries to combat countless ailments.

Black pepper (Piper Nigrum) and turmeric (Curcuma Longa) have been used in cooking for their flavor, and in traditional medicine for thousands of years. These two species from India, when taken together, enhance their therapeutic effects on health. Although the two species themselves have great properties, piperine, which is present in pepper, increases the absorption and bioavailability of many other nutrients. In the case of turmeric, piperine greatly enhances the properties of curcumin. Curcumin alone does not reach the tissues and is rapidly eliminated by the body.

The combination of the two species provides a wealth of antioxidants that protect cells from aging, preventing the cognitive decline that can lead to degenerative diseases like Alzheimer's. It slows the progression of metastases, strengthens the immune system, moisturizes and protects the skin. Enhances the anti-inflammatory and digestive properties. Helps to better absorb nutrients, eliminate gas, protect the stomach and improve some pathologies.

The effect on the digestive system is due to the fact that turmeric increases bile production which helps the liver to function properly. That is why it is recommended to lower cholesterol.

Both piperine and curcumin have an analgesic effect that helps fight pain. These two species together also influence the hormonal system by increasing the levels of endorphins, dopamine and serotonin, hormones that are directly related to mood.

Therefore, taking these two great species together will help us daily to maintain good physical and mental health.
